Sarah Ita Levitan

Bio:

Sarah Ita Levitan is a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University, advised by Dr. Julia Hirschberg.  She completed her BS in Computer Science at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. Her current research is in spoken language processing, and her dissertation focuses on the problem of automatic deception detection from speech.  She has presented her work at international conferences such as Interspeech, Speech Prosody, and NAACL. Sarah Ita is a recipient of the NSF graduate research fellowship as well as the NSF IGERT From Data to Solutions fellowship. She worked as a graduate research summer intern at Interactions LLC in 2015 and at Google Research in 2017.
