Bio:

I am a computer scientist with experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Networks, Cybersecurity and Technology Law. I am interested in investigating the influence technology systems have on news and the spread of information through society. As an undergraduate studying Computer Science at Cornell I wrote my senior thesis on how technology, from the invention of camera to the invention of the internet, has influenced privacy law and conversations about privacy. I also did an M.Eng. at Cornell, where my graduate research focused on the intersection between Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. Before starting the fellowship I was a Data Journalism intern on the Special Projects Desk at Gizmodo Media Group. I still freelance for them occasionally. I have lived in India, England, upstate New York and now the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I am also involved in an art project in Brooklyn called cat's cradle by Lilla LoCurto and Bill Outcault, a contemporary, animated recreation of Hiram Powers' The Greek Slave. I help with the sculpture's hardware and Artificial Intelligence.
