Bio:

Danielle Lee Tomson is a doctoral candidate in Communications at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Her dissertation is a deep ethnographic study of transnational networks of nationalist-populist social media influencers, analyzing their practices, relationships and values. With a commitment to translating academic knowledge for the broader public, Danielle and her work can be found in The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Brookings, Fox News, Mother Jones, CNBC, Civicist, Medium and more. While writing her dissertation, Danielle was the Director of Forums @ Civic Hall, a community center for civic tech in New York City, as well as Director and Curator of Personal Democracy Forum. Prior to starting her doctoral work, Danielle cut her teeth as a product manager and innovation consultant for non-profit, government, and corporate clients around the world. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Yale University.
