Carlos Martinez de la Serna is currently the Director of Digital Innovation at Univision, where he is the business and strategy lead for the digital news operation. With a background in journalism and human-centered design, he previously worked at First Look Media, the mapping startup Carto, and Spanish newspaper El Mundo, where he was a reporter and an online editor focused on biomedical research and global health. Carlos is also a co-founder of the non-profit organization porCausa. He has combined this work with regular teaching. He has taught full courses at the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at the University of Texas in Austin, the IE Business School (Spain), Stanford School of Design, and Universidad de La Sabana (Colombia). He is an alum of the John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University.
