Bio:
Burcu Baykurt is a doctoral student in Communications at Columbia University. Her research interests are in the intersection of cultural sociology, public policy, and media studies. Before coming to Columbia, she studied Political Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London and completed her MA in Media, Culture and Communication at New York University. As a Tow fellow, she will examine the expert networks of economic news on social media and document the ways they are involved in the everyday routines of journalism.
