Abhay Aneja

Bio:

Abhay Aneja is a JD/PhD candidate studying at Stanford Law School and UC Berkeley. His research examines how political rights and criminal justice systems shape inequality—and in particular, the socioeconomic outcomes of historically marginalized subpopulations. His current project uses the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act to examine how the re-enfranchisement of black Americans and subsequent protection of their political rights contributed to their improved economic status. Other research examines how minority political representation reduces racially-motivated hate crime, and the financial consequences of incarceration.
