Bio:
Aaron Brezel is a graduate of Columbia's dual MS program in journalism and computer science (2020). His thesis was a continuously updating web platform that tracked the emergence of new meme formats in far-right internet forums. At the Tow Center, he uses machine learning to develop more generalizable web scraping software.
Previously, Aaron has worked in a variety of journalism and tech roles at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Miami Herald, Los Angeles Times and Consumer Reports.
